Paytm has announced that its average monthly transacting users (MTU) in March quarter increased by 27% y-o-y to a total of 90 million users.
Merchant Payment Volumes (GMV) for the quarter registered growth of 40% y-o-y at Rs 3.62 lakh crore.
In addition, Paytm reported that during the Q4 period, they had facilitated loan disbursements worth Rs 4,468 crore ($544 million) through their platform, representing a y-o-y growth of 206%. The company also revealed that in partnership with their lender partners, they distributed 4.1 million loans in March 2023, indicating a y-o-y growth of 63%.
Paytm also highlighted the growing popularity of its subscription-based devices, including Soundbox and POS machines, among merchants. This has resulted in increased payment monetization for the company. As of March 2023, the number of merchants paying for these devices grew to 6.8 million, indicating an increase of 1 million in just one quarter.
At around 9.25 AM, Paytm was trading at Rs 638.40, down by 0.48% against the previous close of Rs 641.10 on NSE.
