On Friday, the Indian rupee faced a modest decline of 3 paise against the US dollar, influenced by the overall strength of the greenback. The local currency commenced trading at 82.01 per dollar, slightly lower than the previous day’s closing rate of 81.98.
In the Thursday trading session, the rupee displayed resilience and ended positively, gaining 10 paise against the US dollar to settle at 81.98.
Meanwhile, on the domestic front, both the Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, were observed to be trading lower during the pre-opening session.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) Activity:
According to provisional data available on the exchanges, on Thursday, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) exhibited a notable interest in Indian shares, making net purchases worth Rs 3,370.90 crore. In contrast, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were net sellers during the same period, offloading shares worth Rs 193.02 crore.
