Siemens Ltd Q3 PAT down -15.2% at Rs250.70cr on sharp spike in raw material costs in Q3

Siemens Ltd reported 21.37% higher sales revenues for the Dec-21 quarter on consolidated basis at Rs3,550.40cr. On a sequential basis, the revenues were lower for the quarter by -17.36%.

During the quarter, the Smart Infrastructure Vertical grew sales by 46% yoy at Rs1,287cr while the mobility business saw sales growth of 43% at Rs301cr.

In addition, the energy business saw yoy growth in sales at 7% at Rs1,089cr while the Digital business grew sales by just 2.7% in the quarter at Rs791cr. This includes numbers of C&S Electric.

The consolidated Profit after tax (PAT) for the Dec-21 quarter was down -15.16% at Rs250.70cr on the back of higher raw material costs which spiked 64% at Rs744cr in Q3.

In terms of verticals, only Mobility recorded 30% growth in EBIT yoy.  In the case of energy, smart infrastructure and Digital, the yoy EBIT was actually lower due to higher operating costs entailed in the quarter.

Net margins decreased from 10.10% in the Dec-20 quarter to 7.06% in the Dec-21 quarter. Net margins were marginally lower sequentially by 43 bps.
