Adani Ports & SEZ: The Adani Group has established a wholly-owned subsidiary firm called Udanvat Leasing IFSC. Udanvat will be engaged in the business of owning and leasing aircraft.
Reliance Industries: According to persons familiar with the situation, Reliance is closing a cash-and-stock agreement to acquire Walt Disney Co’s India assets. The US entertainment conglomerate may sell a majority share in the Disney Star division for $10 billion. Reliance estimates the assets to be worth between $7 billion and $8 billion.
Mahindra Logistics: The third-party logistics service provider reported a consolidated loss of Rs 16 crore for the July-September quarter of FY24, compared to a profit of Rs 11 crore in the same period the previous year, due to lower EBITDA and margin.
Siemens: The business has filed a writ petition with the Bombay High Court, contesting the GST authority’s show cause notice (SCN). The estimated financial consequences of tax, interest on the date of notification, and penalty are Rs 245.9 crore.
Tech Mahindra: Tech Mahindra (Americas) Inc., the IT services company’s affiliate, has approved a proposal to sell its 30% stake in Avion Networks Inc. for $50,000.
Vedanta: The mining business said that its board of directors has accepted the nomination of Ajay Goel as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 30. Sonal Shrivastava has resigned as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, effective October 24, for personal reasons.
Delta Corp: The writ petitions filed by the casino gambling company and its subsidiaries were considered by the High Court of Bombay in Goa. Based on a declaration filed on behalf of the relevant tax authorities, the High Court has asked the Directorate General of GST Intelligence, Hyderabad, not to issue any final decisions in relation to Rs 16,195 crore tax notifications without the court’s prior approval.
PNB Housing Finance: The home financing company increased its consolidated profit by 46% year-on-year to Rs 383 crore for the July-September period of FY24, owing to a decrease in financial instrument impairments and write-offs. Net interest income rose by 2% year-on-year to Rs 661 crore.
Lupin: The global pharmaceutical company has got permission from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application for Fluconazole tablets to sell a generic counterpart of Pfizer, Inc.’s Diflucan tablets in the US.
NHPC: The Parbati-II HE project (800 MW) in Himachal Pradesh has reached a critical milestone with the daylighting of the head race tunnel (HRT). This breakthrough was made on the HRT’s longest face, which has a total length of 13.118 km. The completion of this action is a significant step towards the project’s full completion.
