Reliance Industries: Walt Disney and Reliance Industries inked a non-binding term agreement to integrate their Indian media operations. Reliance would possess 51% of the company through a mix of shares and cash, with Disney controlling the other 49%, giving Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance group additional influence.
Infosys: The global company has chosen to dissolve the Memorandum of Understanding with Infosys, and neither party will pursue the Master Agreement. Using Infosys platforms and AI technologies, Infosys was expected to deliver better digital experiences, as well as modernization and business operations services.
Adani Power: The Committee of Creditors (COC) of Coastal Energen (CEPL), a company going through the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, has accepted the resolution plan proposed by a consortium that includes Adani Power. Biocon: Sandoz inked a distribution deal with Biocon Biologics, allowing the business the right to market, sell, and distribute Adalimumab BS for subcutaneous injection in Japan. Viatris’ global biosimilar portfolio, including Adalimumab, has been bought by the subsidiary. The drug’s creator, Fujifilm Kyowa Kirin Biologics Co. Ltd., has signed an exclusive global marketing license deal with Biocon Biologics Ltd.
Vedanta: Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO) subsidiary has received an order from the Office of the Joint Commissioner, Bilaspur, confirming the demand for GST worth Rs 84.7 crore for FY2017-18 due to various interpretational issues under the relevant provisions of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act.
NDTV: The civil claim brought by Ankiti Bose before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court seeking a permanent injunction and Rs 820 crore in damages against NDTV Convergence, the company’s significant subsidiary, has been amicably settled between the parties under a settlement agreement dated December 22.
Cipla: The pharma business has received a penalty order of Rs 11.59 crore from the Office of the Commissioner of Central Tax, Central GST Howrah Commissionerate, Kolkata.
Zydus Lifesciences: The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has issued six observations following an inspection at the company’s API plant in Changodar, Ahmedabad. The USFDA performed this PAI-cum-GMP inspection from December 14 to 22. There were no data integrity observations, nor were there any repeat observations from the prior inspection.
