The Hinduja Group’s flagship company, Ashok Leyland, has launched a new campaign called ‘Embrace Equity’ to commemorate International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on Wednesday.
The initiative is an attempt to provide equal opportunities for women, and the city-based firm has invited 100 women to New Delhi to be trained on commercial vehicle driving at its training institute.
Ashok Leyland recently announced a collaboration with the Delhi government’s Mission Parivartan initiative to train 180 women, many of whom are now employed as bus drivers with the Delhi Transportation Corporation.
“This International Women’s Day, we’re ecstatic to declare our revolutionary plan to enlist 100 female participants for specialized instruction in maneuvering weighty commercial automobiles and buses at our New Delhi driver education facility. As part of our brand ethos of ‘Koi Manzil Door Nahin,’ we aspire to turn the aspirations of these women into reality,’ stated Shenu Agarwal, Ashok Leyland’s CEO, and Managing Director.
Traditionally, heavy commercial vehicle driving has been a man’s domain. However, Ashok Leyland hopes that this campaign will break down barriers and inspire more women to get behind the wheel.
