Indian equity markets end the day on a strong note

Indian equity markets ended the day today on a strong note. Steep rise was seen in the last 30 minutes of trading. Nifty 50 closed, up by 129 points. Sensex closed, up by 346.37 points. Top Gainers today were Adani Enterprises, Adani Port and Hero Motors. Top Losers today were UPL, Bharti Airtel and Asian Paint. 

All the broader indices ended the day in Green. Good buying demand was seen in small-cap and micro-cap stocks. Strong buying demand was seen in many Media stocks, Metal stocks, Realty stocks, and PSU bank stocks. Zee Entertainment’s stock price went up after IndusInd Bank withdrew insolvency proceeding against it. Some Adani Group stocks also went up after the company strongly refuted a report that said that it has not fully repaid $2.1 billion of debt in which promoter shares were held as collateral. 

South Bank, Suzlon and Yes Bank were the most traded stocks today at NSE, in terms of volume. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Reliance were the most traded stocks in terms of value. 23 stocks touched new 52-week high, today at NSE. 307 stocks touched new 52-week low.
