Shree Cement emerges as highest price bidder for Datima Coal Mine Block

Shree Cement Limited informed that it has emerged as the highest bidder for Datima Coal Mine Block, located in Surajpur Tehsil in Surguja District of the State of Chattisgarh. The bidding is under the 15 Tranche of auction of coal blocks conducted by the Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India on Feb 27, 2023.

The mine has 13.30 million tonnes of geological reserves. The official confirmation from the Chhattisgarh government declaring Shree Cement as the winner of the above deposit is still pending.

The company entered the coal block auction with the goal of achieving fuel security through long-term fuel supply sourcing options for its operations while also having the flexibility to use the coal for other commercial purposes.

At around 2.46 PM, Shree Cement was trading 0.83% higher at Rs25,981.10 per piece, against the previous close of Rs25,766.15 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of Rs26,041.35 and Rs25,649 respectively.
