“We are committed to providing a conducive environment for nurturing start-ups through T-Hub. Our mission is to provide a platform for exchange of knowledge and ideas between start-ups in India and the Silicon Valley. UberEXCHANGE is one such contribution in this regard and the mentorship program will be extremely valuable to Indian entrepreneurs,” says Shri Jayesh Ranjan.
Mr Eric Alexander, President of Business, Asia, Uber said "One of the most important things for entrepreneurs is to surround themselves with experienced mentors who understand what they are going through and who can provide the right guidance and support. I have been lucky enough in my life to have great mentors who I have learned so much from, and now I am excited to pay it forward, especially in an environment like India which has the third largest start-up ecosystem in the world. "
“I am very proud of Uber's participation in India's vibrant start-up culture through our start-up mentorship program, UberEXCHANGE, and am delighted to have mentored some of the best social impact start-ups in the country today,” he further added.
Srinivas Kollipara, Founder & COO of T-Hub said “In our mission to create the most advanced ecosystem in the country for start-ups to scale, T- Hub welcomes the global mentorship program from Uber. Our association with Uber is one step towards becoming the gateway for strong knowledge exchange between India and Silicon Valley that will enable start-ups to scale their business with the right mentorship. We are excited and look forward to working with Uber to identify and encourage some of the best start ups in India to participate in the UberExchange program”.
As part of this MoU, T-Hub will leverage its expertise in shortlisting twenty start-ups through both Uber and T-Hub’s existing network. T-Hub will invite start-ups across India to apply for the UberEXCHANGE programme through an online application process and shall make best efforts to ensure participation and representation from across the country.
This MOU was signed on the sidelines of Slush Global Impact Accelerator (GIA) event for start-ups, which is currently running at T-Hub. After an intense search about 13 start-ups were finalized to pitch at SLUSH. These participants from promising social impact start-ups received guidance and mentorship from Eric Alexander under the UberExchange program on critical issues of funding, marketing, operations, finance and technology at the event.
