Thums Up Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi is beginning today
Torturous times for the contestants and the viewers begin on 3rd June 2011, every Friday and Saturday at 9:00 pm, only on COLORS.
Danger was always on the menu for Khatron Ke Khiladi contestants, but with Thums Up Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi –Torchaar, Akshay Kumar returns to test the mettle of contestants, raising the bar way higher. This time around, the danger levels are higher - there are going to be no harnesses and cables supporting the contestants in most of the stunts. And if the audiences thought wrestling with snakes and cockroaches was the height of danger, this season they're in for a serious shock as contestants will be heading out on a wild ride with stunts that involve predators from the wild - cheetahs, lions and crocodiles. Teeth, fangs, nails and bloodlust - that's the name of the game.
In a unique association with Thums Up, this year, the winning partner of the ‘haseena’, will not only be bestowed with the coveted title of being the ‘Khiladi’ but also be crowned the ‘Thums Up Thunder Star’ with an exclusive opportunity to feature with Thums Up brand ambassador Akshay Kumar in the new communication campaign.
Elaborating further on the show and the stunts, Ashvini Yardi, Head of Programming COLORS said, "Thums Up Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi -Torchaar is adventure at its torturous best. This season is not just about spectacular stunts that ask contestants to prove their physical prowess, but also about stunts that test the contestants psychologically. The danger is imminent and the key lies in being surefooted and sharp minded. To help the contestants along, this season we welcome back the true blue adventure guru Akshay Kumar who has come a full circle with the show. He's back in Cape Town with what he does best and what comes naturally to him - challenging danger itself. This season along with being special for us, also promises to be a visual treat for the viewers with a lot more aerial stunts involving helicopters and a highly increased level of bone chilling danger!"
The original Khiladi, Akshay Kumar is back to what he does best - stunts in Cape Town and bossing over damsels in distress! AK will now be seen with a cool military look styled by his sister-in-law Rinkie Khanna. Although his role is to push each and every contestant over the edge and really torture every contestant within an inch of her life, this season will see Akshay using the 'tough love' approach with the contestants. While he pushes them, he'll also be seen comforting them when they're really spooked and trying to make them feel ever so slightly less vulnerable by speaking to them in their own language - both figuratively and sometimes even literally by effortlessly breaking into their mother tongues such as Marathi, Punjabi, Haryanvi, Sindhi and even Gujarati.
Speaking about his extraordinary role in show this time, Akshay Kumar says, “It feels good to be back with Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi Torchaar. Every season, the show touches higher levels of daredevil acts, unimaginable and unthinkable to the human mind. In season four you will see me push the contestants beyond limits, you will see my meanest brutal avatar and yes, it is worth watching the brutality of the competition. The girls too will be able to shed their vanities and nervous giggles and be prepared to face the massive challenges thrown their way along with their partners.”
Talking about the association between Thums Up and Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi – Season 4, Wasim Basir, Director - Integrated Marketing Communications, Coca-Cola India said, “Thums Up has always believed in adding action, attitude and adventure into the lives of its consumers.
