Domestic Equity indices may open on muted numbers today. On Friday, markets closed on a dim note. Sensex ended 188 points lower at 65,795. Nifty 50 closed 33 points lower at 19,732.
On the global front, US markets settled in a flat trajectory in their previous session. Dow Jones closed marginally higher. Nasdaq Composite ended 12 points higher. S&P 500 index ended the session with flat numbers.
Asian Markets are trading in mixed sentiments. Chinese Shanghai Composite is trading 0.30% lower. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading 0.61% higher. Japan’s Nikkei 225 ended higher by 0.09%. Taiwan index is trading down by 0.17%. South Korean Kospi index is trading 0.76% higher.
Nifty Midcap 50 stocks ended with a gain of 0.25%. Nifty Bank stocks ended 1.31% lower.
SBI Life, Apollo Hospital, HDFC Life, Larsen & Toubro, and Tata Consumer ended as the biggest gainers in Friday’s intraday session. SBI, Axis Bank, ONGC, BPCL, and Bajaj Finance closed as the top losers on the nifty index.
On Friday, the rupee fell 3 paise to 83.26 versus the US dollar, as a strong greenback in global markets and losses in local shares impacted on investor morale.
Oil futures rose slightly on Monday, extending gains on anticipation that OPEC+ will increase production cutbacks to support prices.
