Apple lays off contract recruiters

16 Aug 2022 , 09:48 AM

Apple fired a large number of its contract-based recruiters in the past week as part of an effort to cut back on the tech giant’s recruiting and expenditure.
.
The world’s most valuable corporation let go of about 100 contract workers in an unusual action. The layoffs indicate that the economy is slowing down at the company because the recruiters were in charge of hiring new staff for Apple.
.
They were informed that the layoffs were necessary owing to changes in Apple’s current business requirements. After years of staffing up, Bloomberg first reported last month that the corporation was slowing down recruiting, following many other tech companies in doing so. On the results conference call, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, stated that the business would be more “deliberate” in its spending, even if it continues to invest in some areas.
