Benchmark Indices Close Higher in Volatile Session, Nifty Above 20,100

In a volatile session on November 30, benchmark indices concluded higher, with the Nifty surpassing 20,100.

At the closing bell, the Sensex gained 86.53 points or 0.13 percent, reaching 66,988.44, while the Nifty rose by 36.60 points or 0.18 percent to 20,133.20. Among the Nifty components, 1838 shares advanced, 1752 shares declined, and 130 shares remained unchanged.

Top gainers on the Nifty included UltraTech Cement, HDFC Life, Sun Pharma, Apollo Hospitals, and Eicher Motors. On the flip side, IndusInd Bank, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Reliance Industries, and Power Grid Corporation were among the losers.

On the sectoral front, the PSU Bank index was down 1.5 percent, while the pharma, capital goods, realty, and oil & gas indices added 1-1.5 percent each.

The BSE Midcap index gained 0.8 percent, and the smallcap index rose by 1 percent. The market witnessed fluctuations, but managed to end on a positive note, reflecting mixed trends across sectors and individual stocks.
