Domestic equity markets ended the day in green today after a gloomy start of the day. Nifty 50 closed 36 points higher. Sensex finished the day with a gain of 119 points.
Broader market indices debuted on a flat note today, following which, markets soon recovered to add some gains. Nifty is only 2% away from its all-time highs. The market rebound was mainly on account of robust monthly auto sales data. Globally, investors’ sentiment boosted as the Senator passed the US debt ceiling bill. Asian Markets also added gains.
Hindalco, Hero MotoCorp, Apollo Hospitals, Tata Steel, and Maruti occupied the top positions on the gainers’ chart today. Adani Enterprises, BPCL, HDFC Life, TCS, and Wipro were on top of the losers’ chart.
Nifty Bank and Financial Services ended the day in green. Nifty Midcap 50 closed about 1% higher. Despite a positive movement in the domestic markets, Nifty IT and Oil & Gas packs ended lower.
Reliance, HDFC Bank, and Infosys were the most active stocks today in terms of value. Further, Tata Steel, Coal India, and ICICI Bank remained on the top positions in terms of volume.
On the NSE, 130 stocks rose to their new 52-week highs. While 16 stocks tumbled to new 52-week lows.
