Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) secures a contract from NTPC to establish the 1,600 MW Singrauli Supercritical Thermal Power Plant (STPP) Stage-III.
The plant will be situated adjacent to the existing 2,000 MW thermal power station (TPS) in Singrauli, Uttar Pradesh.
Singrauli TPS, established by BHEL in 1982, marks NTPC’s inaugural power plant in the state. BHEL’s previously installed machinery at Singrauli has exhibited exceptional performance since its inception.
Awarded through International Competitive Bidding (ICB), the contract entails BHEL to set up the 2×800 MW Singrauli Supercritical Thermal Power Plant (STPP) Stage-III on an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) basis.
Critical equipment for the project will be sourced from BHEL’s manufacturing units located in Haridwar, Trichy, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ranipet, and Bhopal.
