Gensol Engineering Ltd, together with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd, has secured the contract to develop India’s inaugural bio-hydrogen project for a major power generation company.
The project will focus on converting 25 tonnes of bio-waste into 1 tonne of hydrogen daily, marking a significant step forward in the country’s renewable energy sector.
The project is estimated to be worth ₹164 Crore and is slated for completion within 18 months, aligning with the goals of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Gensol has formed a strategic partnership with Westinghouse, a U.S.-based company known for its patented technology and experience in commissioning similar facilities worldwide.
The scope of the project includes the construction of a 25-tonne per day (TPD) bio-waste processing unit and the production of 1 TPD of green hydrogen using the GH2-PREGS technology.
Anmol Singh Jaggi, Chairman and Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, expressed pride in being selected as the lowest bidder, underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence in renewable energy.
