The Honda Corporation introduced two new electric scooters: ACTIVA e: and the QC1, offering more eco-friendly and efficient commute alternatives for the Indian consumer market. They are part of an endeavor from the company to develop ecological-friendly solutions to mobility.
ACTIVA e: is a full-fledged electric version of its famous ACTIVA scooter; this product is designed with equal performance as that of an equivalent 110cc internal combustion engine model. It comes with two changeable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: batteries, enabling easy changes at service stations and negating the long wait to recharge. The scooter covers 102 km per charge, three modes being available for riding: STANDARD, SPORT, and ECON for users to switch between performances based on their requirements, plus reverse mode for ease of parking. The design is still that of the classic ACTIVA but with some modern features such as LED lights and sleek, minimalist appearance. Honda RoadSync Duo provides connectivity for Bluetooth for calls and navigation directly from the scooter.
The QC1 is a compact electric moped aimed at short-distance urban commuting, like school runs or city rides. It runs on a 1.5 kWh fixed battery that can be recharged at home using a dedicated charger. The scooter comes with an in-wheel motor and a quiet ride, making it more efficient with 80 km per charge. The QC1 has some of the useful features such as under-seat storage, a USB Type-C charging port, and a 5-inch LCD screen displaying the speed and the status of the battery. It has LED headlights for better night visibility, and its modern design is a part of it.
The two scooters will hit the market in spring 2025 in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. They are part of Honda’s global strategy to launch 30 electric vehicles by 2030. The prices for both models will be announced in January 2025.
