JSW Energy Commissions 300 MW Wind Power Project in Tamil Nadu

JSW Energy Ltd’s subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Two Limited, has commissioned a 300 MW wind power project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, awarded by SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India) under Tranche X.

This is the company’s first greenfield wind power plant for SECI, contributing to its renewable energy growth and supporting a sustainable future.

An additional 150 MW wind capacity under SECI Tranche X in Dharapuram, Tamil Nadu, is nearing completion, with 138 MW already commissioned.

Following these additions, JSW Energy’s total installed capacity stands at 7,726 MW, with an under-construction capacity of 2,114 MW, expected to be completed by FY2025. The company’s current installed wind capacity now stands at 2,152 MW.

Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, highlighted that this project is a step towards achieving their target of 10 GW installed capacity by FY2025 and a further goal of 20 GW by 2030.

JSW Energy has a renewable pipeline of 8.3 GW with PPAs for 2.3 GW and a total locked-in generation capacity of 18.2 GW (wind, solar, hydro, and thermal).

The company also holds 4.2 GWh in energy storage through battery energy storage and hydro pumped storage projects. JSW Energy is committed to Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and aims to achieve 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030.
