At SEMICON India 2024, L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited unveiled a new partnership with IBM to develop advanced processors.
The collaboration will focus on designing state-of-the-art technology for edge devices, hybrid cloud systems, and sectors such as energy, mobility, and manufacturing.
Sandeep Kumar, CEO of L&T Semiconductor Technologies Ltd., stated that the partnership aims to leverage advanced design technology to drive digital transformation and sustainability in India’s semiconductor industry.
The joint effort will emphasize creating secure, scalable, and high-performance computing solutions for various applications, aligning with India’s objective to enhance its global semiconductor competitiveness.
At the time of writing, shares of L&T is trading at ₹3592 which is a 0.10% gain than the previous close. L&T has gained a total of 24.13% in the last one year, and almost 1.90% since the beginning of the year.
Mukesh Khare, General Manager of IBM Semiconductors and VP of Hybrid Cloud Research, emphasized IBM’s commitment to advancing AI processor design and fostering innovation for both India and international markets.
This collaboration builds on IBM’s earlier work with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), reflecting a continued commitment to supporting India’s high-performance computing ambitions.
