Wipro Appoints Omkar Nisal as Europe SMU CEO

Wipro Ltd. announced that it has promoted Omkar Nisal to the post of Europe Strategic Market Unit head and CEO, effective today. Nisal will be reporting to CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia and will join Wipro’s executive board. He succeeds Pierre Bruno, who is leaving the position. The new appointee will be based in London. Nisal had been part of Wipro since 2012 and was known as a trusted advisor and leader.

He was the banking-EMEA business leader at Wipro, working with the biggest financial and related institutions across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The Senior VP and Managing Director for the Wipro UK and Ireland business preceded the current position, managing revenues in excess of a billion dollars. Srini Pallia praises Nisal as he demonstrated the strategic vision and deep understanding of European market dynamics that allows him to spearhead growth in the region.

Nisal is an honours Computer Science graduate who has patents filed in areas such as channels, anti-money laundering, and fraud detection. In his new role, Nisal will look after the growth of Wipro in Europe, drive innovation, and lead to growth in the region.
