Air India signs codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways

Air India has engaged in a codeshare agreement with Japan’s All Nippon Airways. With the codeshare, beginning May 23, Air India and All Nippon Airways passengers can fly to their selected location by bundling flights between India and Japan into a single ticket.

Air India will add the ‘AI’ designator code to ANA flights between Tokyo Haneda and Delhi, as well as Tokyo Narita and Mumbai.

According to an announcement issued on Tuesday, ANA will affix its ‘NH’ designator code to Air India’s route between Tokyo Narita and Delhi.

Both airlines are exploring expanding their relationship on new routes. Tata Group-owned Air India, which is expanding its operations, now has codeshare agreements with 15 airlines, including ANA.

This collaboration is likely to be a step forward in improving connectivity between India and Japan, delivering better travel options for travellers travelling between the two countries.

The deal offers high-quality services to Air India’s Flying Returns Gold and Platinum members on both airlines. This campaign aims to reward loyal clients by improving their travel experience, adding value, and offering better customer service during their trips.

Furthermore, an agreement may increase passenger traffic for both Air India and ANA, promoting growth in their respective passenger operations. It is intended to expand aviation links between India and Japan by providing greater flexibility and convenience to travellers, hence improving the entire flying experience between the two countries.
