Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and a manufacturer of commercial vehicles, reported on Monday that its October total vehicle sales fell 9% to 15,310 units. 16,864 cars had been sold during that time last year.
During the given period, the overall sales of light commercial vehicles (including domestic and exports) decreased by 12% year over year to 5,902 units.
According to the report, total domestic sales (M&HCVs + LCVs) decreased 11% to 14,067 vehicles in October 2024 from 15,759 units the previous year.
According to the company, the total number of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCVs) sold in the previous month, including exports, was 9,408 cars. This is an 8% decrease from the 10,185 M&HCVs sold in the same month the previous year.
On October 7, Ashok Leyland, a top producer of commercial vehicles, along with Billion Electric Mobility (a division of Group BillionE), unveiled their AVTR 55T Electric, BOSS 19T Electric, and BOSS 14T Electric trucks. With this flag-off, Ashok Leyland officially begins delivering electric trucks to the BillionE Group.
