BEML, a miniratna firm, reported on Monday a 0.75% year-on-year (YoY) fall in profit after tax (PAT) to ₹51.03 Crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2024.
The previous year’s figure was ₹51.78 Crore.
The company’s revenue from operations for the reporting quarter was ₹859.84, down 57% year on year from ₹916.79 in the same quarter the prior year.
The company has turned profitable on a quarterly (QoQ) basis after reporting a net loss of ₹70.47 Crore in the April-June quarter.
BEML’s order book, which stood at ₹11,818 Crore at the start of the quarter, was reported at ₹11,453 Crore, with orders of ₹2,784 Crore executable in the current year and ₹8,669 Crore in subsequent years.
In the quarter ending September 2024, the company received orders worth ₹444 Crore and executed orders totalling ₹811 Crore.
Meanwhile, BEML’s overall income increased to ₹14.86 Crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2024, up from ₹72.20 Crore the previous year, while expenses fell to ₹819.96 million, down from ₹881.83 Crore the previous year.
At around 3.12 PM, BEML was trading 2.26% lower at ₹4,096.75 per piece, against the previous close of ₹4,191.65 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of ₹4,249, and ₹4,060.10, respectively.
