Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Company, has received orders totalling ₹1,155 Crore.
BEL received an order worth ₹850 Crore from Cochin Shipyard to supply an indigenous multi-function radar in X band, according to an exchange filing.
This radar will be totally indigenous, designed by the DRDO, and constructed by BEL. According to BEL, this radar will be able to identify, acquire, and track aerial objects in order to protect naval ships.
BEL has received a ₹305 Crore contract for ship navigational systems, thermal imagers, communication equipment, fire and gun control systems, spares, and services.
BEL has secured orders of ₹7,075 Crore in the first five months of the current fiscal year.
Bharat Electronics received orde₹totalling ₹35,400 Crore in fiscal year 2024.
In August, BEL announced order wins worth ₹695 Crore since its previous announcement on July 12.
Bharat Electronics is also the newest addition to the Nifty 50 index, and it will begin trading on September 30.
At around 3.12 PM, Bharat Electronics was trading 0.82% higher at ₹287.90, against the previous close of ₹285.75 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of ₹290.45, and ₹284.35, respectively.
