The government got approximately ₹2,413 crore in dividends from oil PSU BPCL, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) announced on Monday. “The government has received approximately ₹2,413 crore from BPCL as dividend tranche,” DIPAM Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey stated in a post on X.
So far in the current fiscal year 2024-25, CPSE dividends have totalled ₹15,389.14 crore.
This comprises ₹5,091 crore from Indian Oil Corp (IOC), ₹40 crore from Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL), ₹554 crore from Power Finance Corp, and ₹3,443 crore from Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) as special dividends.
In the current fiscal year, the government expects to earn ₹56,260 crore in dividends from public sector firms, up from ₹50,000 crore in 2023-24.
Separately, the country’s largest insurer, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), declared a dividend of ₹3,662.17 crore for FY24 last week.
This is along with LIC’s interim dividend of ₹2,441.45 crore given in March 2024.
