L&T Semiconductor Technologies, a fabless chip manufacturer, aims to begin manufacturing its own semiconductor products within the next two years, according to a top company official.
L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT), a wholly- owned subsidiary of L&T, is the first significant Indian semiconductor product firm a fabless company that designs and delivers smart devices to global customers.
L&T Semiconductor Technologies CEO Sandeep Kumar told PTI that the company will establish chip production sites after hitting a threshold revenue of USD 50 million to USD 1 billion across several semiconductor technologies.
He noted that the company is already halfway through the process of developing teams to handle around 15 distinct goods in tandem.
He also discussed a hypothetical scenario in which a developed country decides to stop sharing technology with India, causing the local technology sector to come to a halt.
Kumar stated that if an indigenous company manufactures a product, the product will be strategically retained in India.
“It cannot be controlled or halted by any other nation. This does not imply that what others are doing is incorrect. In the chip sector, there is a foundry company where you create a facility and then locate customers who want to use it. They will face their own challenges. “I’m sure they’ll figure it out,” Kumar stated.
