According to the firm, Nissan has strengthened its position as an export hub for India by starting to sell its newest small SUV, the “Magnite,” to South Africa. With its ‘The Arc’ plan, Nissan has already shipped 2,700 of the updated ‘Magnite’ to South Africa less than a month after it was first introduced. The car is made in the Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd plant in Oragadam, which is close to Chennai.
“The company intends to increase its export footprint to over 65 countries, including left-hand drive markets, due to the continued demand and popularity of the ‘Made in India’ Magnite,” Nissan Motor India said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Frank Torres, Divisional Vice-President for Africa, the Middle East, and India, Europe, and Oceania regions, and President of Nissan India Operations, “Since the launch of the Nissan Magnite in 2020, we have seen overwhelming acceptance and demand from customers in the South African market for the Made-in-India compact SUV.”
In October 2024, Nissan debuted the updated Magnite in New Delhi.
“To achieve outcomes consistent with The Arc approach, we must concentrate on both the domestic and export markets. India continues to play a significant role in our development, and the sale of the Nissan Magnite will enhance India’s standing as an export hub and propel Nissan’s regional expansion,” Torres continued.
