NLC India Ltd, ACC Ltd, and JSW Energy Utkal Ltd are among the five businesses that have won five mines on the first day of the tenth round of commercial coal mine auction, according to an official statement released on Thursday. While ACC Ltd was awarded a coal mine in Madhya Pradesh, NLC India Ltd and JSW Energy Utkal Ltd each won one block in Odisha. Mineware Advisors Pvt Ltd and Shreeji Nuravi Coal Mining and Trading Pvt Ltd are the other companies that have obtained coal blocks.
The eleventh round of auction saw the sale of nine blocks in total. Five coal mines were auctioned on the first day, according to a statement from the coal ministry.
One of the five coal mines has been fully explored, while the other four are only half examined.
The total geological reserve for these five coal mines is 2,630.77 Million tonnes. The total peak rated capacity for these blocks is 12 MTPA.
On June 21, the government began the eleventh round of commercial coal mine auctions. These five mines, once operating, will generate an annual revenue of ₹1,106.91 Crore. These mines will require a capital investment of ₹1,800 Crore and employ 16,224 people.
