Nokia-Wipro teams up; To launch 5G private wireless solutions to enterprises

26 Mar 2024 , 03:17 PM

A private 5G wireless solution has been jointly introduced by Wipro Ltd and Nokia Corporation to support businesses in their digital transformation.

According to a press release from Wipro on Monday, the product would initially only be accessible to businesses in the manufacturing, energy, utilities, transportation, and sports entertainment sectors.

The businesses’ 5G private network solution will be integrated with their operational infrastructure through this cooperative solution. According to the release, the network will speed up enterprise connectivity, provide real-time access to business data, and allow for the low-latency processing of large volumes of data.

According to the announcement, businesses using the 5G network will be able to establish an integrated private environment based on the private wireless network in order to control their performance and allay security worries.

As stated by Wipro, the new technology would help businesses increase their operational efficiencies because of its speed, security, and AI-driven automation.

The multinational company based in Finland will offer its 4G LTE and 5G coverage Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) as well as its in-house 5G-ready Modular Private Wireless (MPW) solution, which enables users to create and implement private network solutions. Both the software and the hardware would be included in these systems.

The fourth-largest IT services provider in India will help businesses integrate their systems strategically through two channels: its innovation centre in Austin, Texas, which specializes in 5G solutions, and its OTNxt Platform, an end-to-end managed service that covers the full range of operational technology and Internet of Things (IoT) systems.
release.

‘Through emerging fields like remote-controlled robotic surgery, traditional infrastructures are being stretched, and performance is impacting business value and, in some cases, human lives.’ According to the press release, Jo Debecker, global head of Wipro FullStride Cloud, the company’s cloud computing service, ‘We are proud to partner with Nokia to address this urgent business need and to create a way for enterprises to leverage wireless private networks to digitize at speed and access real-time insights to realize their ambitions.’

According to Stephan Litjens, vice-president of Nokia’s Enterprise Campus Edge Solutions, this partnership will open up new possibilities to support companies across multiple industries in experiencing improved connectivity and AI-driven operational efficiencies, propelling them to the forefront of innovation.
