The Central Government has authorised an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for major rabi crops, providing a big boost to farmers as they approach Diwali.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the decision following a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
The MSP for wheat has increased by Rs 150 per quintal, from Rs 2,275 to Rs 2,425. Mustard’s MSP grew by Rs 300, to Rs 5,950 per quintal, while gram’s MSP increased by Rs 210, to Rs 5,650 per quintal.
This decision is intended to provide financial relief to farmers and boost agricultural income, particularly during the forthcoming rabi season.
