Career options
Hotels: After completing studies one can get placed in different categories of hotels ranging from five star properties to international chain of hotels. The seekers can get job in different departments such as Housekeeping, Food and beverage service, Front office and food production according to their knowledge, learning and skills.
Starting Salary: Fresher’s can join the industry with the salary of 20-25K as a Management Trainee. After the training is over they join to work as managers with a handful amount of 30-35K. Salaries are going up in the industry and reputed brands are paying high salaries. Beginners are paid upto 10k-15k per month. The hospitality industry is usually not affected by recession as even if one of its sectors is sinking, another is expanding.
Airline Industry: The airline industry is upgrading day by day and it is a booming industry. It is a good option for graduates in hotel management. Fresher’s can join as Air Hostess and Flight Stewards .some also join as Ground Staff, Public Relationship Officers and Guest Relations Executive They are thoroughly trained for all these in a organized training programme.
Salary: It varies according to the type of airlines chosen. For domestic airlines 20-25K, for international airlines 35-40K and for cruise 60-70K.
Cruise Ship Management
Cruise Ship is one such option which has a growing demand of hotel management graduates. Suited to individuals from a variety of hospitality backgrounds, particularly those with good sea legs, working with Cruise not only offers a good job opportunity but also the chance to earn well while travelling to exotic ports for free!
Salary: Remuneration is fairly good in Cruise Ship Management starting at Rs 30,000-35,000. Salary knows no bounds once you have the relevant experience and expertise. 
Marketing: Sales Executives in Hotel / MNCs
Sales and marketing executives in hotel / multinational companies can also be a good option because this field requires good convincing skills, good communication skills and good Personality which is relevant to hotel industry requirements. As a sales executive, you will have to be consistently on the go, will have the pressure to meet the targets and should have the assertive attitude. With experience, one can apply to various MNC companies and work abroad with ease.
Travel Agency
Although the travel agency business has consolidated in recent years, people who know how to put together packages are still in demand. Worth exploring are companies that cater to five-star travelers. Demand for expensive junkets remains strong among the well-heeled traveler. Globally, travel agents are very much in demand with their foreign packages. So this option is again very much in demand for hospital management students.
