TCS Joins Forces with BankID BankAxept to Enhance Norway's Financial Infrastructure Security

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) partners with BankID BankAxept AS, Norway’s national payment and electronic identity systems, to establish and manage an operations command center. The initiative aims to enhance the resilience, security, and availability of Norway’s critical financial infrastructure.

BankAxept is the primary national payment system in Norway, handling 80% of card payments, while BankID serves as the Norwegian eID verification solution relied upon by over 90% of the population, banks, and institutions. TCS was selected by BankID BankAxept AS due to its expertise in leading large-scale growth and transformation projects within the banking and financial services sector. TCS will construct and oversee a 24×7 operations command center in Oslo, Norway, catering to BankID BankAxept AS users and clients.

The command center will ensure prompt responses to service disruptions, security concerns, or client requests related to Norway’s crucial national payment and electronic identity verification systems. TCS will implement a dedicated monitoring framework capable of predicting, reacting, and preventing issues within the financial services ecosystem.

The framework includes efficient communication and collaboration mechanisms to swiftly identify and address problems, involving expert teams and vendors. The command center possesses the ability to manage teams, vendors, and integrate value-added services from partner ecosystems, ensuring rapid resolution of disruptions and security alerts.
