Making their University proud, three students of ITM’s Engineering department emerged at the top of the results of the Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, leaving behind thousands of students from 70 affiliated engineering colleges.
The three students from three different disciplines of engineering -- Aakanksha Pahwa (Electronics and Instrumentation), Lokesh Choudhary (Civil Engineering) and Jatin Garg (Automobile Engineering), were students of the B Tech 2008-12 batch.
The batch of engineering students that passed out in 2012 is the last but one B Tech batch in the erstwhile affiliated status of the University. ITM University was earlier affiliated to MDU, Rohtak, but is now a private University.
Lokesh Choudhary, the topper of Civil Engineering is all praise for his faculty and credits them for his achievement.
“I am highly delighted and overjoyed to receive a mail from Dr V Gayathri regarding the MD University Rank list. I am thankful to all of you at ITM University for putting in such a great effort all those four years of engineering and bringing out in one the caliber to perform the best,” said Lokesh in an email from IIT Guwahati, where he has been selected for his M Tech.
The achievement of the three toppers is not a stand alone. Other students of ITM too have done exceptionally well occupying most of the top 50 ranks in the MDU.
The level of academic performance of the students of the University was further validated by the recently declared GATE results in which a large number of its students achieved a percentile of 85% and above.
