Centum Electronics enters strategic alliance with Israel-based Rafael

31 Oct 2022 , 09:18 AM

Centum Electronics Limited announced a strategic alliance with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Limited, headquartered in Israel. Both companies will collaborate on Electronic Warfare systems for the Indian Navy and Coast Guards as part of the MoU.

The Memorandum of Understanding envisions the development and indigenous production of futuristic lightweight Electronic Warfare systems in lower frequency bands, as well as the life cycle support of existing Electronic Warfare systems.

Nikhil Mallavarapu, Executive Director, Centum Electronics Limited, and Oded Fisher, Naval Warfare System, Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Limited signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Vinod Chippalkatti (President) and Subhash Ahlawat (Director, Business Development) from Centum Electronics were also present, as was Shardul Rauthela (Director - Naval Systems) from Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.

With the Indian defence sector opening up as a result of major policy changes initiated by the Government of India, Centum and Rafael will use their knowledge, expertise, and skills in electronic warfare to capitalise on the opportunities that will arise.

Through Rafael's decades of experience in lower frequency band Electronic Warfare system design and manufacturing, this MoU will strengthen Centum's indigenous Electronic Warfare system design and manufacturing capabilities. This exclusive collaboration is expected to generate substantial revenue over the next three to five years.

At around 9.16 AM, Centum Electronics was trading at Rs611 up by 2.56% from its previous closing of Rs595.75 on the BSE.
