Fore School of Management, New Delhi, has been awarded the Best Business School of North-India, by the industry body Assocham (Associate Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India). The B-school was awarded under the Best Business School Awards- by region category in the National Education Excellence Awards 2013, an initiative by Assocham, yesterday in New Delhi. The award was handed over by the Union Minister of Human Resource and Development, M.M. PallamRajuto to Dr. Jitendra K Das, Director, Fore School.
Assocham presents Education Excellence Awards to those who have contributed significantly in improving the quality of education delivery with emphasis on world-class research and innovations and enhancing the development of quality education. Assocham has undertaken initiatives for reforming education with respect to country’s need for improvement in the gross enrollment ratio in higher education.
PallamRaju, an Electronics & Communications Engineering graduate from Andhra University and an MBA from Temple University, Philadelphia, USA said, “One of the biggest challenge the nation today face is propelling India to move ahead in the employability quotient. Education is seen as an access to opportunity for the child and if education is not able to fulfill the expectation or provide and create the right kind of employability, it is not of much value. While the government is committed to take up the issue, equal responsibility lies with the academia and the corporate sector to create a value system. A nation without a value system would be radar less”.
“It is exciting to have been awarded the best B-School in North by Assocham. This award has immense credibility considering Assocham's standing in the industry and society at large. It is also an evidence of the right initiatives being taken by Fore to strengthen various facets of business teaching. Also, in my view this initiative by Assocham will prove to be a game changer in the arena of B-School rankings”, said Dr. Das, Director, FORE School.
The highest campus offer for the 2012-13 batch of PGDM in Fore, was Rs. 39.6 Lacs which surpassed the highest placement offers at many of the IIMs.
The Best New Upcoming B School award was conferred to, Universal Business School, Karjat in Raigarh, which takes pride in being India’s first Green Business School ensuring eco-smart integrated thinking and a sustainable campus where each student will have a Societal Cause and Responsibility Training (SMART) project where they will have to adopt a nearby village and implement the green thinking ideas thereby learning by doing.
Talking about ensuring quality and employability in Higher education system, Mr. Anil Agarwal, Ex-President of ASSOCHAM, mentioned that with 33 thousand institutions and 15 million students enrolling,India’s education sector has witnessed an enormous growth over the past few years, however,an estimated 3 billion USD is spent by Indian students going abroad for studies and there has been a steady annual rise of approx. 7% Indians travelling overseas for a degree.
