Gujarat State Road Transport Corp. places an order with Ashok Leyland for 1,282 buses

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has placed an order with commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland for 1,282 completely built buses.

‘This order, one of the largest from a state transport undertaking for a single OEM (original equipment manufacturer), will contribute to strengthening Ashok Leyland’s dominant position in the Indian bus market,’ the automaker stated in a release.

In accordance with the contract, Ashok Leyland will produce 55-seater BS VI diesel buses that are fully assembled in a ‘phased manner’.
