Harvard Business School (HBS) will host an executive education program Managing and Transforming Professional Service Firms–India, from January 15 to 18, 2014 at the HBS style classroom at Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai.
This leadership development program is designed to facilitate participants to capture emerging opportunities in the current economic environment and position the organization for success as the economy improves.
Whether it is a firm offering expertise in accounting, law, information technology or consultancy services, this program will help participants gain the latest strategies for capitalizing on new opportunities during uncertain times, implementing models for scaling successful services, responding to market shifts with innovative services, and managing both domestic and global growth.
“Leadership has never been more critical; especially with the need to tackle various issues such as how do we get through challenging times? How do we get through tough times and transition points? The essence of executive education, more specifically the Managing and Transforming Professional Service Firms–India program is about facilitating participants to disrupt the old patterns,” said Thomas J. DeLong, the Philip J.
Stomberg Professor of Management Practice in the Organizational Behavior and faculty chair of Managing and Transforming Professional Service Firms – India.
He further added, “Across the globe, organisations are trying to figure out ways to differentiate themselves. We hope to help participants differentiate their organisations, not only financially but also on the human capital front. This will be an enriching program wherein executives will learn how to create and reinforce strategy, how to select and retain the best and brightest employees and how to create a culture that is self-reinforcing, both on an individual level and a macro-level.”
Rajiv Lal, Stanley Roth, Sr. Professor of Retailing and Member of the Marketing Unit said “The Managing and Transforming Professional Service Firms–India program will help participants use proven approaches to align the company’s service capabilities with strategy, helps them strengthen relationships with their clients and improves organizational performance. In addition to developing tools and frameworks to address an organization’s specific challenges, the participants will also gain valuable insights into common issues like how to respond to market shifts or what models do successful companies use to innovate into higher-margin businesses that sustain competitive advantage.”
Ashish Nanda, Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Executive Education Fellow at Harvard Business School, said, “This program is designed for senior executives and practice leaders responsible for defining and executing firm or practice strategy. It is appropriate for operational heads from established firms within or outside India. The participants will represent a range of professional service industries, including information technology, financial, legal, and marketing services.”
As with all HBS Executive Education programs, the India portfolio will be taught by using the renowned HBS case method. Faculty lectures, discussions, assessments, and case studies will help a diverse mix of participants acquire a deeper and broader understanding of how to position their organization for long-term growth and meet their corporate responsibilities.
