IRCTC starts clone special trains

The company starts 20 pairs of clone special trains from September 21 on specific routes.

Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has started twenty pairs of clone special trains services from September 21, 2020 on specific routes to counter heavy rush in special trains.

“With reference to ‘Operation of Additional Special trains to start from September 12, 2020’, Ministry of Railways now has decided to start twenty (20) pairs of clone special trains services from September 21, 2020 on specific routes,” IRCTC informed the exchanges on Friday.

A clone train will be running with the same number like the actual train to carry waitlisted ticket-holders.

The company stock is currently trading at Rs1,412.50, up by Rs8.65 or 0.62% from its previous closing of Rs1,403.85 on the BSE.
