Markets closed higher; Midcap stocks outperformed

Markets witnessed a strong day of the trade with Nifty index witnessing a sharp delta move, favouring the long gamma option positions.

Nifty index outperformed the Bank Nifty index by ~0.4% with both the indices closing around intraday highs.

Midcap stocks showed good traction with stocks like Care Ratings, Prestige Estate & Carborundum Universe posting an intraday rally of ~10%. Market breadth ended in the favour of the advances with the advance/decline ratio closing at 2:1x.

Bank Nifty and Bank Nifty index saw an addition of long positions during the day.

On the options front (December 03, 2020 expiry), across the board option writing positions were formed in Nifty and Bank Nifty put options as the index trended higher. India Vix index closed at 19.8, down 1%.
