The sector is in focus after official data released had showed that India’s August retail inflation eased to 5.30% from 5.59% in July. The macro-economic data assumes significance as it brings the retail inflation mark in the range of the RBI's set target of 2-6% for CPI inflation.
At around 10:40 AM, the Nifty Consumer Durables was trading at 27,225.20 up 329.65 points or 1.23%, after touching new high of 27,234.20 and low of 26,903.40 during intraday trade.
Titan Company stocks in focus after it jumped over 3% to Rs2120.90 per piece after hitting 52-week high at Rs2128 per piece. Bluestar and V Guard extend its winning run to gain 2% each. Further, SEBI levies Rs1 lakh fine on Titan Company employee for disclosure lapses.
TTK Prestige and Bata India rose over 1.5% each. Bata India hits new high at Rs1,824.70 per piece on Wednesday.
Rajesh Exports surged 1% at Rs612.95 per piece to lift the performance while Voltas also gained 1% to hit new 52-week high at Rs1,242 per piece to lead the bull run.
Heavyweight stocks like Whirlpool, Relaxo, Amber were trading in the green while Kajaria Ceramics also added marginal gains to the sector.
On the flipside, Dixon dragged the most at Rs4,251.10 per piece, down 0.89%. Crompton and Havells were also under pressure while Orient Electric was trading on a flat note.
