Sugar stocks turn sour on lack of buying interest

Shree Renuka Sugars, Thiru Arooran Sugars, Uttam Sugar Mills and Dwarikesh Sugar are trading at fresh 52-week low today.

Sugar stocks have turned sour owing to lack of buying interest at these counters.

The likes of Shree Renuka Sugars, Thiru Arooran Sugars, Uttam Sugar Mills and Dwarikesh Sugar have hit a fresh 52-week low today.

In per centage terms, Dwarikesh Sugar is the major loser, down over 5 per cent at Rs. 22.25. Mawana Sugars and Parrys Sugar have tumbled over 3 per cent each to Rs. 7.75 and Rs. 17.75, respectively.

Uttam Sugar Mills and Ponni Sugar Erode have shed over 2.5 per cent each at Rs. 13.05 and Rs. 141, respectively.

Thiru Arooran Sugar, Rana Sugars, Triveni Engineering, Upper Ganges Sugar, Sakthi Sugars and Oudh Sugar Mills are down 1-2 per cent each.

Meanwhile, the Sensex is flat at 28,704, down 33 points.
