A firm from the Aditya Birla Group purchases KA Hospitality

Aditya Birla New Age Hospitality (ABNAH), the hospitality division of the Aditya Birla Group, has recently acquired KA Hospitality Private Limited (KAH), which holds the franchise rights for four international restaurant brands, including the domestic brand CinCin.

With this acquisition, ABNAH’s portfolio will now include four renowned restaurant brands: the Michelin-starred Hakkasan, the award-winning Yauatcha, Nara Thai, and CinCin, each catering to different segments of the customer value pyramid.

Hakkasan is a Michelin-starred restaurant offering contemporary Cantonese cuisine, while Yauatcha is a well-known dim sum teahouse from London. CinCin, on the other hand, is designed to capture the essence of Italian culture.

Aryaman Vikram Birla, director of Aditya Birla Management Corporation Private Limited and creator of ABNAH, stated that the growing disposable income and changing lifestyles of Indian consumers have fueled their belief in the tremendous potential of the premium casual dining segment.

KA Hospitality was founded by Kishor Bajaj, who passed away in 2011, and it introduced Hakkasan and Yauatcha to Mumbai. Karyna Bajaj, the executive director since 2016, further expanded the business by introducing the in-house brand CinCin and bringing in Nara Thai. With an unwavering passion for the past 12 years, the family has cultivated their business, and they are now handing over the reins to ABNAH with great pride, expecting the tradition of KA Hospitality to continue and thrive.

Presently, ABNAH operates Jolie’s, a members-only club in Worli, Mumbai. The company aims to establish upscale casual dining restaurant networks across India. Following this acquisition, ABNAH’s portfolio has grown to include seven eateries spread across three cities.
