ABB softstarters have been placed in the city’s pumping station and sewage treatment facilities (STPs) to improve water management operations. ABB’s technology allows for continuous water delivery to 60% of Varanasi. It also facilitates the effective pumping of treated water to the government’s STPs, so assisting the nation’s ‘Namami Gange’ Clean Ganga initiative.
The city’s rising population and the year-round flood of tourists have resulted in most resources, particularly the sacred river Ganga, exceeding their consumption limit. As a result, the government has launched a number of measures to address the challenges that have arisen as a result of this circumstance.
Varanasi’s water pumping station is supplied by a century-old 250 MLD WTP. ABB Softstarters avoid pressure spikes and provide steady water circulation. This allows for the reduction of leaks and the avoidance of pipe breaks. ABB’s softstarters technology is easily integrated with other built-in safeguards. It also has a display that allows users to easily understand defective tripping places, said the company on Tuesday.
ABB India’s Softstarters placed at such STPs contribute to the “Namami Gange” initiative by efficiently pumping cleaned water from the sewage facilities back into the river.
