ACME Group, a renewable energy firm, has secured a land agreement with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (TSSEZL) for its green hydrogen and ammonia project. The agreement grants ACME Group access to 343 acres of land within the Gopalpur Industrial Park in Odisha, India.
The company’s project involves the establishment of a 1.3 MTPA (million tons per annum) green ammonia production facility. The green ammonia will be generated using green hydrogen, with the entire production process powered by renewable energy sources.
The produced green ammonia will be exported to both West and East markets using the existing Gopalpur port facilities. ACME Group plans to collaborate with Japan’s IHI Corporation for the execution of this eco-friendly project.
Notably, this endeavor will mark the first-ever green hydrogen project in the state of Odisha Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department and Chairman of IDCO & IPICOL, Government of Odisha, envisions Odisha as a pivotal hub for green hydrogen and green ammonia, and the project aligns with this vision.
The Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP), situated in Odisha’s Ganjam district, is being developed by Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (TSSEZL), a subsidiary of Tata Steel, to become a notable manufacturing hub for domestic and export-oriented industries.
