Tata Group-owned Air India forms a codeshare partnership with subsidiary AIX Connect, initially covering 100+ daily flights on 21 routes. The codeshare agreement facilitates seamless connectivity for Air India guests across AIX Connect’s extensive route network, connecting to over 80 destinations on Air India’s domestic and international network.
AIX Connect is in the process of merging with Air India Express to form a unified low-cost carrier under the Tata Group’s airline business. Air India will incorporate its ‘AI’ designator code on 100+ daily flights operated by AIX Connect across 21 routes, with plans to extend the agreement to more routes gradually.
Bookings for codeshare flights are now open for travel starting from September 27, 2023, across various sales points. The codeshare pact enables Air India to expand its domestic route network to include four new destinations: Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, and Surat, and shared destinations with AIX Connect. Codesharing enhances the passenger travel experience by allowing bookings on partner carriers for seamless journeys to multiple destinations.
