Apollo Multispecialty Hospitals Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Ltd., acquires assets of a partially built hospital in Sonapur, Kolkata. The cash transaction, valued at Rs 102 crore, was confirmed via a press statement on September 27.
The acquired hospital currently has a capacity of 325 beds and is set to be commissioned in phases. The first phase will consist of 225 beds over 1.75 lakh square feet and is scheduled for commissioning within the next 12 months.
The hospital aims to provide high-quality healthcare services across various specialties, including comprehensive Oncology services with radiotherapy.
Apollo's second hospital in Kolkata complements its flagship hospital in the city, enhancing the clinical offering for the region. The acquisition is fully funded by Apollo Multi Specialty Hospitals through internal accruals, contributing to the planned national capacity expansion.
