Apple, the maker of the iPhone, will reportedly begin producing its wireless earbuds, AirPods, at Foxconn’s factory in Hyderabad. A $400 million investment has been approved by Foxconn for the Hyderabad factory, which is scheduled to start mass production in December 2024.
‘AirPods will be made at the Foxconn facility in Hyderabad. By December, mass production is anticipated to start at the site, a source told PTI.

After the iPhone, AirPods will be the second product category produced in India.
Globally, the TWS (true wireless stereo) market is led by Apple’s AirPods.
According to research firm Canalys, it held a 36% market share in the quarter ending in December 2022, leading the global TWS market.
With a 7.5% market share, Samsung came in second to Apple, followed by Xiaomi with a 4.4% share, Boat with a 4% share, and Oppo with a 3% share.
This year, Xiaomi began producing its TWS in India at the Noida facility of Optiemus Electronics.
