On August 4, 2023, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) places three stocks under the ban for trade in the futures and options (F&O) segment. The ban is imposed as these securities have crossed 95 % of the MWPL, as per the NSE.
However, the stocks will still be available for trading in the cash market. The three stocks affected by the ban are Piramal Enterprises, Hindustan Copper, and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers And Chemicals Limited.
The NSE regularly updates the list of securities in the F&O ban for trade, and these stocks are currently on the ban list due to the high market-wide position limit. Any increase in open positions will attract appropriate penal and disciplinary action, according to the NSE’s statement.
During the F&O ban period, no fresh positions are allowed for any of the F&O contracts in these specific stocks.
