Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Sunday that the banking industry has evolved into a tool for good governance and improved service delivery in India, highlighting the country’s advancements in these areas.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi donated 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) to the country in an effort to encourage financial inclusion. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, and Shaktikanta Das, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), also participated in virtual form at the inauguration event.
The 75 Digital Banking Units would greatly enhance the citizen’s banking experience, according to PM Modi, who spoke at the event. DBUs is a step toward simplifying everyday living for the average person. According to him, DBU is a system that ensures the most services with the least amount of digital infrastructure.
“Digital banking units are important in the continued effort to make everyday life easier for regular people. It is a unique banking facility that will offer the greatest number of services with the least amount of digital infrastructure. These services will be hassle-free and without any paperwork. These would include amenities and robust digital banking security “he added.
