BHEL said in a statement that the order for the project’s electro-mechanical (E&M) work was received against fierce competition through worldwide competitive bidding.
However, no details were shared by the company regarding order value.
The contract’s scope of work includes BHEL to ‘design, engineer, manufacture, supply, erection, and commission the electro-mechanical package, which includes Turbines, Generators, Digital Governing Systems, Static Excitation Systems, Transformers, Bus Reactors, Outdoor Pot Yard, Gas Insulated Switchgear, & Switchyard Equipment, and Electrical & Mechanical BoPs.’
Major project equipment will be constructed at BHEL plants in Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jhansi, and Rudrapur, while on-site execution will be handled by the company’s power sector – eastern region division in Kolkata.
Among other orders, the company is currently executing orders for the 850 MW Ratle HEP (J&K) for limited scope E&M works and the 105 MW Loktak HEP (Manipur) for renovation and modernisation (R&M) for M/s NHPC.
